Purple Mountains

The purple misty mountains set amidst the blue skies is a picture of stillness and serenity.

Notice how only a couple of trees rest at the lower right-hand side of this picture?

Carps in a Pond II (Carps swimming in Circles)

While its true that 9 carps is a symbol of good fortune to the Chinese, it has been interpreted by some that 9 carps swimming in a circle is not good for business luck as it symbolises that you're swimming in circles and not getting anywhere. Some say the opposite : it symbolises unity and coherence!

Well, it depends on different interpretation!

Replicate of Water Colour on Oil

This is based on Jehan Chan's carps in the koi pond. The Chinese believe that 9 fish swimming in the water is a symbol of fortune - supposed to bring you business and money luck!
Here's a view of the development of this piece. You can see that the background , ie, water, then leaves and finally the fish gets painted first. Finally the fine details of the fish fills in, lastly the "overlay" effects of the fish submerged in waters!

Now lets see if you can identify which one is the orginal one (in H2O colour) and which one is the replicate on Oil.
